About Me

Hi! I'm a graduate of Indiana University - Bloomington. My previous work in counseling and psychology has made me a passionate advocate for my users. I have enjoyed my experiences working with users across industries and professions as it has allowed me to center myself on what I feel is the central tenant of experience design: humility. It is from this core tenant that I approach all products and projects. I have found approaching every situation secure in what my expertise is, but valuing that I know I do not know everything has resulted in a better solutions that stem from the expertise of everyone in the room.

Needless to say I love understanding and helping people. This passion extends to animals as I help my mother with her farm and foster animals whenever I visit.

My Design Process

Design Process

I believe that design is a cyclical process where every part of the process informs you of what your next step should be.

For me this means, trusting that all steps taken in the process is getting you one step closer to launch, even if it feels like you're taking a step back.

My Animals

A large portion of my time and perspective comes from my experiences caring and providing for my animals. Over the course of the years, I have had a hand in the care of hundreds of animals. Some of these animals are foster animals who have since found their forever homes, and others are my personal animals. Below are my current personal pets who influence the way I perceive the world.

Artemis

Artemis is a long haired miniature dachshund who I have labeled as "false advertising" for dachshund kind.
She is 4 years old, but everyone assumes she must be older because of her calm and tolerant nature. She loves going out to meet new people and will try to convince you that she never wants to leave your side. But like most dachshunds, as soon as I am out of sight, she will abandon you to go find me. Exceptions apply to this rule of course. When she isn't sleeping away the day, she is being my emotional support extrovert.
